cold feet but diving in anyway

On this day of firsts, I am launching a new blog. I am full of hope and anticipation for what is yet to come. I would like this to be a space where I gather friends and share stories. I don't know what to expect. I simply want to write, reflect, and connect. Thank you for joining me!

Some time ago I read an article by Rebecca Solnit, which led me to her book The Faraway Nearby. “We think we tell stories, but stories often tell us, tell us to love or hate, to see or to be blind. Learning to be free requires learning to hear stories, to question them, to pause and hear silence, to name them, and then to become a storyteller.” Her words have encouraged me to pick up my pen, to slow down, and to listen. This process of becoming, of gathering my thoughts, of synthesizing my experiences and “spinning a yarn”, helps me to feel whole.
